Cafe Staff Assistant (Part-time) SY 26-27

Essential Functions

• Practice personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures.
• Follows approved food safety procedures.
• Turn on, test, and monitor equipment at the beginning of the day.
• Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times.
• According to written, oral instructions, food preparation follows wellness policy, Avondale School District, and Health Department guidelines.
• Loads carts, food warmers, trays, etc., to ensure that food and/or beverages items are available for transport to other areas of the facility (preschool & Kindergarten classes).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving meats, bread, vegetables, and other foods on a large scale.
• General knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment.
• Skill in the use of standardized and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, and school staff.
• Able to maintain emotional control.
• Able to work with others in a close fast-paced environment and the ability to address customers in a pleasant, courteous manner.
• Basic ability to read and speak/understand English.
