About the role

The Pfister Hotel is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join their Café team and help uphold the tradition of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise kitchen staff and daily operations.
  • Prepare breakfast and lunch items while ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Train and mentor cooks and prep staff to maintain standards.
  • Aid with menu planning, daily specials, and seasonal items.
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, and storage of food items.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the kitchen.
  • Support hotel-wide culinary initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a café, casual dining, or hotel kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of breakfast and lunch service operations.
  • Experience with menu planning, inventory, and cost control.
  • ServeSafe certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Pay

$60,000 - $68,000 annually based on experience.

Schedule

Full Time, Set Schedule: 7 am to 4 pm (Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays required).
