Cafe Attendant

About the role

The Delaney at The Vale is seeking a hospitality-focused Café Attendant to join their culinary team. This role provides hands-on food and beverage service within the community café while creating an exceptional experience for residents and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, specialty beverages, sandwiches, and other café menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting residents and guests, taking orders, and answering questions about menu offerings.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the café, including food preparation areas, counters, equipment, and dining spaces.
• Restock food, beverages, condiments, and service supplies to ensure a well-stocked and organized café environment.
• Assist with table maintenance, bussing dishes, and ensuring guest areas remain clean and welcoming.
• Create a warm and inviting atmosphere for residents, guests, and team members.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous food service, café, coffee shop, or customer service experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and basic food handling knowledge are necessary.
• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems is preferred.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift supplies as needed.
