Caddie
Job Summary
The Caddie is responsible for assisting club members and guests throughout their rounds of golf. Key duties include carrying golf bags, offering course-related advice, and maintaining a high standard of service to ensure an exceptional experience for all players.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Head Golf Professional.
Day to Day
- Provide course-related information, including yardages, wind conditions, and hazards.
- Aid players with club selection and offer guidance on course layout and player ability.
- Uphold high standards of customer service, ensuring a memorable experience for members.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure environment on the course.
- Carry and manage golf bags, clubs, and equipment for players during rounds.
- Maintain course cleanliness by replacing divots, raking bunkers, and repairing ball marks.
- Ensure that golf bags and equipment are organized, cleaned, and ready for use.
- Assist in loading/unloading golf bags and preparing carts as needed.
Additional Duties
Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., talking, hearing, and seeing.
Primary Tools/Equipment
- Golf Clubs & Bag - 40 - 50 lbs.
- Merchandise - 5 - 30 lbs.
- Computer - 25 lbs.
Work Schedule
Attendance requirements for this position as outlined on the weekly schedule. Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
About You
- Prior experience in a similar role or extensive knowledge of golf.
- Ability to walk long distances and carry heavy bags (up to 75 lbs.) for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
- Excellent knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and best practices.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- A high attention to detail and reliability.
