CADD Technician
About the role
HDR Michigan, Inc. is seeking a CADD Technician to join our growing, nationally ranked Power Delivery team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify electric substation drawings, distribution drawings, and transmission line drawings using computer-aided design software.
- Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs.
- Perform discipline-specific drafting assignments under the direct supervision of an Architect/Engineer or other technical professional.
- Contribute to the design and development of power systems that support community growth and industrial expansion.
Requirements
- One year or more experience working for an A/E firm or Utility company performing tasks aligned with the responsibilities above.
- Average or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Knowledge of standard CAD Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts, workflows, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Associate or technical school degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Understanding of engineering and architectural concepts.
