Key Responsibilities
- Develop advanced CADD and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) models, maps, and designs for DOE, DoD, and commercial engineering projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather data and create detailed technical drawings, spatial analysis, and mapping solutions.
- Utilize advanced features of MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, ArcGIS, and other GIS software to design, modify, and present project data.
- Oversee the integration of GIS data with CADD designs, ensuring accurate and seamless alignment between geographic and engineering data.
- Provide expertise in spatial data management and geographic data analysis, contributing to project planning and decision-making.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on all CADD and GIS deliverables to ensure adherence to project specifications and company standards.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure that all project files, drawings, and models are up to date and meet regulatory and contract requirements.
- Prepare and calculate itemized estimates of construction quantities (i.e., “quantity take-offs”) using CADD software.
- Assist engineers with the development of figures and calculated values in CADD as needed to complete engineering evaluations of designs in progress.
- Lead GIS data collection and field mapping efforts, including the use of GPS and remote sensing technologies to capture accurate site data.
- Mentor and support junior CADD/GIS team members, providing technical guidance and training on software tools and best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends, advancements in CADD and GIS technologies, and regulatory requirements, applying new methods to improve project outcomes.
Education, Experience And Requirements
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in GIS, Engineering Technology, Geography, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in CADD and GIS work, with a focus on integrating geographic data into engineering projects (required); experience in DOE or DoD projects is preferred.
- GIS certification (e.g., GISP) (preferred), along with proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD and ArcGIS (preferred).
- Advanced skills in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, ArcGIS, and other CADD/GIS software; experience working on government contracts and regulated projects is a plus.
- Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
