CADD Designer
About the role
The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure is currently seeking a CADD Designer to join our Construction Management Unit - Construction Support - AS-BUILTS Team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare as-built drawings and working drawings, utilizing specifications and final estimates for roadway, sewer, and water main projects.
- Participate in field surveys.
- Engage in engineering investigations and studies.
- Attend meetings.
- Prepare calculations and reports.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
- Candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent, or an Associate degree in engineering technology, or a combination of education and experience which is equivalent to two years of satisfactory experience.

- For certain positions, a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York is required.
- To be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels III and IV, individuals must have at least one year of satisfactory service as an Engineering Technician with the City of New York, or a Baccalaureate degree in engineering technology from an accredited college, or at least two additional years of full-time satisfactory experience performing engineering technician work, or a satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to Additional Qualification Requirement 3 and Special Note above.

Preferred Skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main).
- Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards.
- A comprehensive understanding of the NYC infrastructure system and current engineering practices.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred).
- A valid driver's license (required).
- A personal vehicle (preferred).

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
