POSITION OVERVIEW
As a CAD Technician at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for drafting support for assigned projects independently with working knowledge of engineering technology in a specific field.
TYPICAL DAY
- Process conventional field notes and digitally collected data, analyze field data, and interact with survey field crews.
- Create Survey Control Data Sheets, Survey Control Index Sheets, Horizontal & Vertical Control Sheets.
- Compute data points for construction layout.
- Understand technical survey requirements and specifications of the State of Florida standards of practice.
- Write/check Metes & Bounds Descriptions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-10 years of survey experience.
- CADD experience is required.
- Civil 3D Trimble Business Center experience preferred.
- Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Attention to detail, organized.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to work well in a team-focused environment.
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur in project need.
