CAD Technician - Survey

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a CAD Technician at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for drafting support for assigned projects independently with working knowledge of engineering technology in a specific field.

TYPICAL DAY

• Process conventional field notes and digitally collected data, analyze field data, and interact with survey field crews.
• Create survey plats, Sketches, and exhibits including surveys for builder services (vacant, form board, foundation, and final surveys).
• Create Survey Control Data Sheets, Survey Control Index Sheets, Horizontal & Vertical Control Sheets.
• Compute data points for construction layout.
• Understand technical survey requirements and specifications of the State of Florida standards of practice.
• Write/check Metes & Bounds Descriptions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-10 years of survey experience.
• CADD experience is required.
• Civil 3D Trimble Business Center experience preferred.
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Attention to detail, organized.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to work well in a team-focused environment.
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur in project need.
