CAD Technician - Survey

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a CAD Technician at LJA Surveying, performing technical drafting support for assigned projects independently with working knowledge of engineering technology in a specific field.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

• Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps
• Processes conventional field notes and digitally collected data, analyzes field data, and interacts with survey field crews
• Uses survey data for the creation of survey plats, sketches, and exhibits including surveys for builder services (vacant, form board, foundation, and final surveys)
• Creates Survey Control Data Sheets, Survey Control Index Sheets, Horizontal & Vertical Control Sheets
• Computes data points for construction layout
• Understands technical survey requirements and specifications of the State of Florida standards of practice
• Writes/checks Metes & Bounds Descriptions

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CADD experience is required
• Trimble Business Center experience preferred
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Attention to detail, organized
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to work well in a team-focused environment
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur in project need
