Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create construction drawings, 3D models, and electrical schematics in SolidWorks as required
- Produce timely and accurate drawings and submittals in accordance with company standards and customer specifications
- Provide full and accurate material lists to project management and purchasing
- Create, and maintain 3D model, and 2D drawing libraries
- Effectively communicate with sales, project management, production, and supervision concerning technical functional questions
- Work together with all departments to provide excellent customer experience
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associates degree or combination of education and work experience in a similar position and/or discipline
- BS Degree preferred
- Skilled in SolidWorks 3D software
- 3 years' experience in drafting required
- Experience in reading construction drawings preferred
- Strong attention to detail is a must
- Strong computer skills including: SolidWorks, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel (VBA experience a plus), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and ACT!
- Ability to read and interpret working drawings and specifications
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Skilled communications
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Knowledge of basic electrical calculation, applicable codes and standards, rules and regulations
- Reasoning ability including: applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; determining alternate project scopes
- Quality responsibility including: maintaining or exceeding the degree of excellence requested by the internal and external customers of this department; following established policies, procedures, and work instructions; using problem solving techniques to solve root causes of problems; viewing quality as customer satisfaction
- Physical demands including: regular standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; using hands and fingers to write, operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad; lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds; close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
