CAD Technician

Responsibilities

• Manipulate field measurements per customers and sales orders.
• Develops detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
• Congnates with and consults other employees to design, layout or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
• Reviews and analyzes specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Computes mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
• Allocates materials to provide highest yield, utilizing remnants when available.
• Develops understanding of multiple CAD systems in order to program multiple sets of machinery.
• Visits field to verify dimensions and designs.
• Meets with owner or representative to determine requirements, coaching the owner/rep through the discussion to glean all the information needed.
• Creates a preliminary design and takes it back to the customer for approval or revision.
• Fulfills follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules.
• Conducts self at all times in a professional, ethical and courteous manner as a representative of Triple-S Steel.
• Attends weekly production meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills

• Associates degree in Drafting/Design or High school diploma, or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of 1-2 years manufacturing background.
