About the role
Shape the transportation systems that move communities forward. Fisher Associates is looking for a CAD Technician to play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into the infrastructure that keeps communities moving.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned drafting and design tasks on time and within project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, project managers, and design staff to produce coordinated, accurate, and high-quality design layouts and construction documents.
- Develop and update detailed CAD drawings and 3D models for transportation and infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, sidewalks, trails, and traffic signal systems.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related design software to create figures, plans, and technical drawings from sketches, notes, and engineering data.
- Review and revise design drawings to incorporate feedback, resolve design conflicts, and ensure consistency across all deliverables.
- Verify accuracy, quality, and adherence to CAD standards, engineering specifications, and applicable DOT and municipal design requirements.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
- 0–5 years of experience as a CAD Technician, Civil CAD Technician, CAD Designer, or Civil Drafter; experience in construction or surveying technology is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation highly preferred.

Skills
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency.
- MicroStation experience (preferred).
