About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CAD Professional with a focus on Land Development to join our Engineering team. This position supports our engineering teams by producing high-quality technical drawings, plans, and project deliverables for civil engineering projects involving land development, utilities, transportation, and infrastructure throughout Florida. Immediate opportunities are available in our Orlando (Winter Park) and Middleton/The Villages office locations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex permitting and construction plans, details, and maps for civil engineering projects.
- Apply advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drafting principles to develop accurate and high-quality deliverables.
- Perform quality control (QC) reviews of drawings and project deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to support project goals and deadlines.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD technicians to support their professional development.
- Work independently with minimal oversight while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
- Assist in identifying solutions to technical challenges and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Serve as a technical resource and leader within the CAD team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive civil engineering production experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Thorough understanding of civil engineering drafting standards, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly motivated, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Prior experience mentoring or training junior staff is preferred.
