CAD Professional IV - Land Development

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CAD Professional with a focus on Land Development to join our Engineering team. This position supports our engineering teams by producing high-quality technical drawings, plans, and project deliverables for a variety of civil engineering projects, including land development, utilities, transportation, and infrastructure throughout Florida.

Immediate opportunities are available in our Orlando (Winter Park) and Middleton/The Villages office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex permitting and construction plans, details, and maps for civil engineering projects.
  • Apply advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drafting principles to develop accurate and high-quality deliverables.
  • Perform quality control (QC) reviews of drawings and project deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to support project goals and deadlines.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD technicians to support their professional development.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
  • Assist in identifying solutions to technical challenges and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Serve as a technical resource and leader within the CAD team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive civil engineering production experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Thorough understanding of civil engineering drafting standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Highly motivated, dependable, and team-oriented.
  • Prior experience mentoring or training junior staff is preferred.
