CAD Drafting Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CAD drawings for civil infrastructure projects, including:
  • Water distribution systems
  • Wastewater collection systems
  • Pump stations and treatment facilities
  • Stormwater management systems
• Prepare plan sets, profiles, details, and sections for permitting and construction
• Assist with layout of pipelines, grading, utility coordination, and site development plans
• Maintain drawing standards, templates, and layer management in accordance with company and client requirements
• Cover coordinate with engineers to incorporate design revisions and redlines
• Compile drawing packages for submittals, permitting agencies, and bid documents
• Support quantity takeoffs and basic design calculations as needed
• Organize and manage project files within CAD/BIM environments

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Relevent years of CAD drafting experience in civil engineering or utility infrastructure
• Proficiency in: AutoCAD (required), Civil 3D (strongly preferred)
• Experience preparing plan/profile sheets and utility layouts
• Strong understanding of basic civil engineering concepts (grading, utilities, alignments)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and standards
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with water/wastewater infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with: GIS integration (ArcGIS or QGIS), BIM workflows (Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, or similar)
• Knowledge of local/state permitting requirements and utility standards
• Experience working with survey data and surfaces in Civil 3D
• Exposure to hydraulic profiles or process layouts is a plus
