Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CAD drawings for civil infrastructure projects, including:
- Water distribution systems
- Wastewater collection systems
- Pump stations and treatment facilities
- Stormwater management systems
- Prepare plan sets, profiles, details, and sections for permitting and construction
- Assist with layout of pipelines, grading, utility coordination, and site development plans
- Maintain drawing standards, templates, and layer management in accordance with company and client requirements
- Cover coordinate with engineers to incorporate design revisions and redlines
- Compile drawing packages for submittals, permitting agencies, and bid documents
- Support quantity takeoffs and basic design calculations as needed
- Organize and manage project files within CAD/BIM environments
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevent years of CAD drafting experience in civil engineering or utility infrastructure
- Proficiency in: AutoCAD (required), Civil 3D (strongly preferred)
- Experience preparing plan/profile sheets and utility layouts
- Strong understanding of basic civil engineering concepts (grading, utilities, alignments)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and standards
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water/wastewater infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with: GIS integration (ArcGIS or QGIS), BIM workflows (Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, or similar)
- Knowledge of local/state permitting requirements and utility standards
- Experience working with survey data and surfaces in Civil 3D
- Exposure to hydraulic profiles or process layouts is a plus
