CAD Drafter (Computer Aided Design Drafter)

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings and shop tickets using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to understand the requirements of the project.
• Ensure all the drawings and designs meet the required specifications and standards.
• Review and revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
• Maintain and update the existing drawings and records for future reference.
• Check dimensions, materials to be used, and quantities for accuracy.
• Continuously learn and apply new drafting techniques to improve efficiency and quality of work.
• Stay up to date with new drafting software and technology advancements.

Education / Experience / Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, or other relevant CAD software.
• Understanding of drafting techniques and engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with building codes and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling and visualization.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of construction methods and manufacturing / fabrication processes.
• Experience in creating Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Experience as a draftsman or in a similar role.
• Ability to solve problems and make necessary corrections to designs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
