CAD Drafter

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, schematics and maps.
• Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD).
• Collect construction site reports, analyze building codes and make weight, volume and stress calculations for the materials to be used.
• May also lay out interiors, draw landscape and represent the architect at the construction site.
• Create and incorporate mathematical formulas to create component specifications and reproduce their schematics for use within RFM reference materials, such as operations manuals.
• Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.

Requirements

• Utilize computer-aided design systems to create technical drawings for building construction and product manufacturing.
• Fills out drawings with specifications, methods and codes.
• Gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office or more.
• Education: High School Diploma Required, Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Two years related experience of CAD work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must pass background screening.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a deskbound role with many hours of computer/digital screen work; however, filing, correlating, reproduction and binding materials are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand on a stool, climb stairs as necessary.

Position Type / Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full-time contract position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Travel: No Travel is required.
