CAD Drafter
About the role
We seek a talented CAD Drafter to join our growing Mid Atlantic Sector. A day at EXP involves preparing site sketches, traffic control plans, permit planning, and DOT applications for utility construction projects. You will manage and gather information, data, reports, and field notes from work management systems and software. You will utilize basic knowledge of utility piping systems and networks, work with dynamic design teams, and generate drawings from scratch with minimal direction and oversight.
Responsibilities
- Manages and gathers information, data, reports, field notes from work management systems & software.
- Utilize basic knowledge of utility piping systems & networks.
- Works with dynamic design teams including senior traffic engineers, utility engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and structural engineers.
- Generates drawings from scratch with minimal direction and oversight.
- Revises drawings based on mark-ups from others under a EIT or PE supervision.
- Prepares project drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Familiar with all aspects of construction document preparation and capable of independently making design decisions and preparing the construction document package.
Requirements
- College Diploma in Engineering Technology or Architecture.
- 1 years of practical drafting & engineering design experience.
- Basic Knowledge of Traffic Design, Traffic Control planning, and MUTC.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of work management systems and associated software.
- Very strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation knowledge.
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
- Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with the use of computers including spreadsheets, word processing, and engineering software and able to prepare electronic design calculation documents.
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively on a project team.
- Planner's own time and manages the time of others, as needed, demonstrates good time management skills.
- Problem solver, completes assigned tasks efficiently, and exercises sound engineering judgment.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
Pay
The pay range for this role is $20 to $35 an hour.
