Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks to support engineering and product development activities.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to produce clear, detailed CAD documentation.
- Prepare, update, and maintain engineering documentation in alignment with established standards and procedures.
- Support engineering change orders (ECO) and contribute to product lifecycle support activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, service, and other cross-functional teams to ensure CAD outputs meet project and product requirements.
- Aid in organizing and controlling product and engineering documents, contributing to effective document management and product lifecycle processes.
- Provide CAD drafting support for manufacturing-related needs, including components such as sheet metal and plastics when applicable.
- Contribute to the build-out and improvement of ERP-related engineering data and documentation workflows.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance documentation quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with team members to ensure alignment on project expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience as a CAD technician, drafter, or in a similar CAD-focused role.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling and 2D drafting capabilities.
- Experience with CAD drafting and the creation of detailed engineering drawings.
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience with engineering documentation, including preparation and maintenance of technical drawings and related records.
- Familiarity with engineering change orders (ECO) and product lifecycle support activities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in modeling, drafting, and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment and communicate clearly with engineering and other teams.
Qualifications
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and document control processes.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments, particularly involving sheet metal and plastics components.
- Familiarity with Adobe and other documentation tools for creating, editing, and managing technical documents.
- Interest in supporting ERP-related engineering and product data workflows.
- Ability to adapt within a changing organizational culture and contribute positively to team dynamics.
- Motivation to grow into roles with broader responsibility, including potential leadership opportunities over time.
