About the role
The CAD Drafter supports the Lighting & Technology Design team at Visual Comfort & Co. by developing and maintaining accurate CAD drawings, lighting schedules, and specification packages for both residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize CAD drawing packages for Senior Designers
- Update and revise drawings based on redlines provided by Sales, Project Management, and other teams
- Develop lighting schedules and specification packages
- Maintain drawing accuracy and consistency throughout project phases
- Cook up with internal stakeholders to incorporate project revisions and updates
- Absorb project documentation and design deliverables
- Support project teams with drafting and technical documentation needs
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in drafting, architecture, design, or a related field required, or equivalent practical experience
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, architectural technology, or a related discipline preferred
- 2+ years of AutoCAD or CAD drafting experience in residential or commercial environments preferred
- Experience working in lighting design, architectural lighting, or technology integration environments preferred
- Familiarity with residential and/or commercial construction documentation preferred
- Exposure to lighting control systems and coordination with project teams preferred
- Basic understanding of lighting design and switching/control systems
- Strong knowledge of architectural floor plans, layouts, wall conditions, window placements, and construction details
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Experience creating lighting schedules and specification packages preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions simultaneously
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote work environment

- Must be authorized to work in the United States
