About the role
The successful candidate will support engineers by creating and revising technical drawings and models, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with established drafting standards. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in drafting, CAD design, or engineering technology who are looking to contribute to large-scale engineering projects while developing their technical skills in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings from sketches, layouts, specifications, and engineering instructions.
- Support engineering projects by incorporating design revisions, updates, and modifications into existing drawings and models.
- Work closely with engineers, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
- Apply drafting standards, procedures, and best practices to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Absorb and maintain engineering records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with team members to understand project objectives, priorities, and deadlines.
Requirements
- Average of 2 years of experience in drafting, CAD design, or engineering technology.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX, or similar platforms.
- Experience creating, modifying, or maintaining technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Working knowledge of drafting principles, engineering drawings, and design standards.
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and receive direction from engineers and project leaders.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field; OR completion of a vocational/technical drafting program with relevant experience.
Skills
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
