About the role
The CAD Designer/Drafter is responsible for creating and modifying detailed models and drawings using CAD software. They collaborate directly with engineers to arrive at designs/solutions, review drawings for correctness and conformance to standards, and participate in ongoing process improvement and best practices development.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify detailed models and drawings using CAD software from sketches, layouts, and/or notes provided by engineers.
- Collaborate directly with engineers to arrive at designs/solutions.
- Review drawings for correctness and conformance to standards.
- Participate in ongoing process improvement and best practices development.
- Support prototyping efforts through modeling.
- Document pain points and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of CAD modeling experience.
- Proficiency in engineering CAD software (Onshape experience is a plus).
- Understanding of basic engineering principles and manufacturability considerations.
- Experience reviewing models and drawings and providing feedback.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web browsers.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Some programming knowledge (a plus).
- Ability to diagnose issues.
- Some familiarity with 3D printing processes (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
