Job Purpose
The CAD Designer plays a key role in translating engineering concepts into precise, production-ready drawings and documentation that meet ASME and automotive industry standards. This position works closely with the engineering team to support the full design lifecycle, from detailed design development and component selection through drawing release and change management. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this role serves as an essential link between design and production in a growth-stage manufacturing and engineering environment.
Requirements
- Work authorization: This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
- Education/Experience Required: Engineering Design and Drafting Certificate or a minimum of 5 years experience in design drafting. NX drafting and modeling courses (CAD) Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M-1994
- Preferred: A minimum of 5 years in product design. Knowledge of change processes
Additional Requirements
- Regular and punctual onsite attendance for all scheduled work hours is an essential function of this position.
- Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival for scheduled work hours and occasional off-site travel for business-related tasks.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with the design engineers to develop the detailed design of integrated systems to meet customer expectations
- Create production drawings to ASME and automotive standards and follow the documented release procedures for issuing the drawings to production/procurement
- Support component selection, specification generation, sourcing, and vendor communication
- Perform changes to existing drawings
- Generate and maintain engineering Bill of Materials for development projects
- Adopt and implement Quantum's Quality Assurance Procedures-QAP and Departmental Work Instructions-DWI
