CAD Designer
About The Role
EasTec is hiring a CAD Designer to help turn real site conditions, existing prints, and field information into clear drawings for commercial security and low-voltage systems. This is not just a drafting seat. It is a role for someone who can read existing plans, understand what is already installed or proposed, and add accurate device layouts, markups, revisions, and as-built updates that help technicians, estimators, project managers, and customers stay aligned. Our work includes access control, video surveillance, intrusion, intercom, and related low-voltage infrastructure. Experience with hospitals, healthcare facilities, schools, commercial buildings, or other occupied/regulated environments is a strong plus.
About EasTec
EasTec is a security integration company delivering access control, video surveillance, and networked security solutions for healthcare, education, commercial, and government clients. We care about clear documentation, reliable follow-through, and practical solutions that help field teams and customers get work done correctly.
What you will do
- Read and interpret existing architectural, electrical, low-voltage, and security system drawings
- Add devices, cabling notes, risers, details, and revisions to existing blueprint layouts
- Prepare clean CAD drawings, markups, permit/support documents, and as-built updates
- Coverage with project managers, technicians, estimators, and sales to turn field notes and site-walk information into useful documentation
- Help identify missing information, conflicts, unclear scope, and practical field constraints before they become problems
- Learn how EasTec designs, quotes, installs, and supports integrated security systems
Requirements
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools for building plans, systems layouts, or technical drawings
- Ability to read existing prints and understand how new work fits into an existing building
- Comfort adding to and revising existing drawings rather than only creating drawings from scratch
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Curiosity and ownership: if something is unclear, you ask, investigate, and help get it resolved
- Low-voltage, security, electrical, hospital, healthcare, construction, or facilities experience is a plus
Practical screening exercise
As part of the interview process, we may ask you to review a simple existing floor plan, place a small set of security devices, identify missing information, and explain your assumptions. The goal is not perfection; it is to see how you think, ask questions, and work from real-world drawings.
