CAD Designer

About the role

This is a remote, project-based role for CAD professionals with hands-on experience in 3D modeling and technical drafting. You will complete a variety of modeling, drafting, and design-review tasks, assigned on a project-by-project basis. Work is asynchronous and flexible. Specific project details are shared with accepted experts. AfterQuery is a research lab investigating the boundaries of artificial intelligence through novel datasets and experimentation, backed by top investors including Y Combinator and Box Group, and supporting all leading AI labs.

Responsibilities

• Complete a variety of CAD modeling and design tasks on a project-by-project basis
• Produce models and drawings to professional standards
• Review and evaluate existing designs for quality and completeness
• Document your work clearly and reproducibly

Qualifications

• Professional experience in CAD design, drafting, or mechanical/product design
• Strong proficiency in at least one major CAD platform (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, CATIA, NX, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated ability to produce clean, well-structured models and drawings to professional standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on technical tasks

Pay

Project-based pay up to $100/hour.

Schedule
