CAD DESIGNER 1

Position Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D production drawings/layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge.
• Plan, coordinate, and check Engineering CAD design changes prior to checker/supervisor review.
• Develop and design new and existing 3D models based upon DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Create bills of material from 3D CAD models using PLM system i.e., Team Center.
• Perform revising, editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.
• Work within cross-functional teams.
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature & Scope

• Works within well-defined instructions.
• Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
• Works closely with project and sustaining Engineers to release Engineering changes through bills of materials and drawings.
• May oversee the building of Engineering prototypes to understand the design changes based upon the outcome.
• Communicates with manufacturing to ensure the form of design.

Knowledge & Skills

• Able to create basic 3D model and 2D Layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge.
• Editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.
• Reasonable understanding of general ASME Drawing Standards.
• Basic understanding of product design and engineering change process.
• Able to learn and apply new technology as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as design standards, design procedures and safety rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coordination skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Basic computer Skills (MS office etc.).
• Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Experience

• 0 – 2 years of Sheet metal design or equipment design and design for manufacturability.

Education/Certification

• Associates degree or certificate in CAD design or Mechanical Design Engineering preferred.
