Position Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and 2D production drawings/layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge.
- Plan, coordinate, and check Engineering CAD design changes prior to checker/supervisor review.
- Develop and design new and existing 3D models based upon DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
- Create bills of material from 3D CAD models using PLM system i.e., Team Center.
- Perform revising, editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.
- Work within cross-functional teams.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Nature & Scope
- Works within well-defined instructions.
- Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
- Works closely with project and sustaining Engineers to release Engineering changes through bills of materials and drawings.
- May oversee the building of Engineering prototypes to understand the design changes based upon the outcome.
- Communicates with manufacturing to ensure the form of design.
Knowledge & Skills
- Able to create basic 3D model and 2D Layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge.
- Editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction.
- Reasonable understanding of general ASME Drawing Standards.
- Basic understanding of product design and engineering change process.
- Able to learn and apply new technology as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as design standards, design procedures and safety rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Basic computer Skills (MS office etc.).
- Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
Experience
- 0 – 2 years of Sheet metal design or equipment design and design for manufacturability.
Education/Certification
- Associates degree or certificate in CAD design or Mechanical Design Engineering preferred.
