About the role
Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking a 2nd shift Cable Test Technician to join our team at our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. The successful candidate will support different programs ranging from commercial customers to DoD customers. The technician will be responsible for building cables in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
- Use tools for cable manufacturing (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
- Work with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop strategies and identify potential assembly problems.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to find faults in signal and connectivity issues.
- Test cables for continuity, shorts, dielectric standing voltage, and insulation resistance.
- Test coax cables for insertion loss and reflection coefficient using equipment such as digital multimeters and cable-eye testers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1 to 3 years of prior relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during the cable assembly process.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (or be eligible to obtain) a Final Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum.
- Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.
- Ability to test cable assemblies for continuity, isolation, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.
Pay
Pay Range: $40,300.00 - $72,850.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
