Cable Technician II
About the role
This position involves network equipment experience, fiber knowledge, and fiber troubleshooting. Responsibilities include laying out and installing wireways, bus ducts, cable trays, switches, receptacles, and other devices. Additionally, individuals will build closets, mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware. They will also install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as needed, complete IDC connections, and pull wire and oversee conduit installations.
Responsibilities
- Lay out and install wireways, bus ducts, cable trays, switches, receptacles, and other devices.
- Build closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware.
- Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
- Complete IDC connections, such as terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels.
- Work both inside and outside buildings to set up data centers.
- Pull wire and oversee conduit installations and wire pulling.
- Operate tools/equipment, often requiring the use of two hands (e.g., cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
