Location: Hartford, CT Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday Job Overview TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support structured cabling and low-voltage projects throughout the Hartford, CT area. This position is ideal for technicians with experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling in commercial environments. Whether you're an experienced installer or looking to grow your career in the low-voltage industry, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Pull, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cablingTerminate copper and fiber cables following industry standardsInstall cable pathways including J-hooks, cable trays, conduit, and sleevesPerform labeling, documentation, and cable managementTest and troubleshoot network cabling systemsRead and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagramsMaintain a safe and organized work environmentWork independently and as part of a team to complete projects on schedule Required Qualifications 1+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage experienceExperience pulling and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, and/or fiber optic cableAbility to work on ladders and liftsExperience with hand tools and cable testing equipmentReliable transportation to project sitesStrong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 CertificationT1/T2, C5/C6, or other low-voltage certificationsExperience in commercial construction, healthcare, education, or data center environmentsFiber termination and testing experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, bend, climb, and work in various construction environmentsComfortable working at heights when required Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Waterbury, CT. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
