Cable Tech I

About the role

This contract position is based in Montgomery, AL and requires working onsite Monday‑Friday, 6 am‑5 pm. The role involves designing, installing, and maintaining structured cabling infrastructure for data centers, including wireway, bus duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, grounding, rack and closet build‑out, and IDC terminations.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install wireway, bus duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and other devices.
• Build closets: mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware.
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
• Complete IDC connections (terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
• Work inside and outside buildings to build out data centers.
• Pull wire and/or oversee and direct conduit installations and wire pulling.
• Operate tools/equipment requiring two‑hand use (cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.).

Requirements

• Proficiency with the tools listed in the job description (cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.).
• Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents (specifications, reporting, quality requirements).
• Knowledge of universal communications color codes.

Qualifications

• Entry‑level experience level.
• Network equipment experience, Cat6 termination, fiber knowledge.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $26.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 6 am – 5 pm.
