About the role

Systel’s recent growth in embedded systems has created a significant increase in cable assembly demand, especially for new products. In order to enhance our prototype development, the company recently started their own internal cable assembly team, which has dramatically aided our cable design refinement and reduced production rework time in time-sensitive situations. Systel is looking to grow its internal cables team, but first needs a leader capable of streamlining its new internal cables processes. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is capable of improving cable assembly techniques, streamlining interdepartmental scheduling processes, and growing the team.

  • Support for urgent cable rework needs
  • Own on-time delivery performance for internal cable builds
  • Develop cable assembly skills to better understand assembly processes
  • Upon occasion, personally build cable prototypes to keep assembly expertise sharp and provide valuable feedback to engineering on new designs
  • Liaison with sustaining engineering, to ensure needed support
  • Cook up and coordinate the receipt of cable kits from the warehouse and the return of completed product to the warehouse
  • Investigate and incorporate industry best practices to improve quality and productivity
  • Escalate key material shortages to purchasing
  • Aid in other areas as the production manager requires

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and drive for continuous improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; capable of building strong internal and external relationships
  • Highly competitive and self-motivated with the ability to “make it happen”
