Job Purpose
Hiring pay starts at $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. The Cabinkeeper's primary responsibility is to clean and prepare cabins and common areas to meet established standards of cleanliness and propriety, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott cleaning standards a plus
- High school diploma a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare for shift by loading Outpost vehicle with cleaning kits, cleaning equipment, welcome materials, and linen bags
- Clean and stage the interior and exterior of each cabin, including bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and bedrooms
- Place welcome items and provisions in each cabin
- Solve problems proactively and efficiently
- Unload cleaning kits, cleaning equipment, welcome materials, and linen bags at the end of each shift
- Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures using ladders or stools as needed
- Clean and sanitize guest and public restrooms, including showers, toilets, and mirrors
- Replace and restock cabin amenities and literature
- Wash and vacuum hard floor areas, dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings
- Strip beds, remake linens, and check for cleanliness
- Lift mattresses and inspect closets for cleanliness
- Inspect and report on cabin equipment and room status
- Secure and maintain custody of equipment and supplies
- Provide assistance to other employees and departments
Skills
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
- Upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs. continuously
- Finger, hand, and upper body dexterity for pushing, pulling, and moving levers, equipment, and furniture
- Ability to work with arms raised above head and maneuver fully loaded maid cart throughout an 8-hour shift
- Basic understanding of commercial washing and drying equipment
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals
