Duties and Responsibilities
- Construct carcass cabinetry utilizing hands, mallets, glue, drills
- Attach hinge plates, carcass labels and drawer hardware according to procedure
- Ensures that sub-assembled and assembled items meet specific quality specifications prior to cabinet assembly
- Able to work at a consistent pace to meet daily production goals while meeting quality standards
- Accurately record hourly build number
- Remove hardware and rebuild rejected parts
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Required Abilities and Skills
- Cabinet Builder:
- Cut, assemble, and install cabinet frames, doors, and drawer boxes
- Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists
- Operate woodworking machinery (table saws, routers, edge banders)
- Sand, fit, and prepare components for finishing
- Ensure all pieces meet quality and dimensional standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Machine Operator:
- Set up and operate CNC, panel saws, and boring machines
- Program or load job files and verify machine settings
- Monitor production runs and inspect output for accuracy
- Perform routine machine maintenance and adjustments
- Report equipment issues and downtime to supervisors
- Follow all safety protocols around machinery
- Forklift Driver:
- Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts in a warehouse setting
- Load and unload incoming material and finished goods
- Transport materials to designated production areas
- Conduct daily pre-operation safety inspections
- Maintain accurate inventory by scanning and staging pallets
- Valid forklift certification required
- Material Handler:
- Receive, verify, and stock incoming lumber, sheet goods, and hardware
- Pull and stage materials for production orders
- Move components between workstations and departments
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts
- Keep storage areas organized and clearly labeled
- Dispose of waste and scrap materials properly
- Spray Booth Operator:
- Apply stains, sealers, lacquers, and topcoats to cabinet components
- Mix and thin coatings to proper viscosity per specifications
- Inspect surfaces for defects and perform touch-up work as needed
- Maintain spray equipment — clean guns, lines, and filters daily
- Follow all OSHA and EPA guidelines for chemical handling and PPE use
- Keep accurate records of materials used and batch quantities
Education and Experience
- High School, Technical School diploma preferred or equivalent
- Experience building cabinets and or construction a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Work in noisy environment
- Bend, stretch, and squat in a variety of weather conditions
