About the role

Assemble cabinets from engineering drawings, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installation and fabrication of cabinet components and hardware.
• Set up and operate a variety of machines and use various hand tools to fabricate cabinets.
• Mark outline or dimensions of parts according to blueprint or drawing specifications.
• Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.
• Perform other responsibilities and/or training as requested by your line manager.

Requirements

• One or more years of cabinet making experience or similar experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout instructions.
• Close attention to detail.
• Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
• Ability to laminate cabinets and panels as needed.
• Familiarity with the safe operation of various pneumatic and power tools, including but not limited to drills, screw guns, table saws, band saws, and routers.
• Ability to use basic mathematics.
• Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to walk.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Required to sit for periods of time.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
• Ability to work with arms above head.
• Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
• Ability to stand at a workstation for eight hours a day (minus specified breaks).
• Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
• Ability to operate and understand all protective safety equipment in the area.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Must be able to endure repetitive motions (e.g., hand crimping) without aggravating preexisting conditions such as carpal tunnel or tennis elbow.
• Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten hours per day.
• Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.

Work Environment

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• Occasionally works near electrical parts and is at risk of shock.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Elevated noise level in the work environment.
