About the role

The Dart Team Specialist I, with supervision, competently disassembles, assembles, and transports aircraft cabinets; performs finishing preparation, polishing of parts, and minor repair and touch-up work in a safe, clean, and organized work area according to customer expectations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures. This position requires the knowledge and flexibility to transition back and forth between a Cabinet Specialist I and Finish Specialist I.

Responsibilities

  • With supervision, disassemble, assemble, and transport aircraft cabinets to customer satisfaction and Duncan Aviation standards using appropriate equipment.
  • Laminate, repair, and modify existing aircraft cabinets; use appropriate equipment to build and assemble new cabinets within tolerances per blueprints.
  • Perform specialty work using Plexiglas, mirror, sheet metal, and solid surface products.
  • Prepare cabinet surfaces and substrates for paint or finish, and miscellaneous plastic, metal, and leather parts for paint or dye, following Duncan Aviation approved procedures.
  • Perform basic structural and decorative repairs, detail work, polish, and clean-up on finished items.
  • Research, prepare, and sign off on various documents for record-keeping as required by Duncan Aviation procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (e.g., turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, work order sheets, personal training log, FAA 8110-3, and FAA 337s).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of related experience required; Duncan Aviation cabinet making experience and/or combined cabinet and finish experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified.
  • Regularly scheduled attendance required.

Physical Demands

  • Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs.
  • Reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies.
  • Repetitive motion; works in confined spaces; works with moving parts and vibration.
  • Tolerates products and materials associated with cabinet fabrication.
  • Tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.

Environmental Conditions

  • Tolerates work in noisy environments and extreme temperatures.
