About the role

The Cabin Vendor Manager (CVM) applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices in developing engineering and certification solutions for cabin modules (e.g., galleys, lavatories, stowages), passenger and attendant seats, and in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems. This role supports the design, development, and certification of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations, and services globally.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering solutions per the aircraft modification project plan.
• Generate technical solutions for cabin or cargo compartment upgrades, including monument/equipment installation, system and electrical definitions.
• Create and manage customized monument specifications and engineering drawings (installation, adaptation, or removal), ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Develop installation, adaptation, or removal instructions for Service Bulletins.
• Determine parts required for monument and kit definitions.
• Manage engineering drawings and monument specifications using internal and external subcontractors.
• Support the certification process, including vendor documentation and Service Bulletin checks.
• Liaise with internal departments, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors globally.
• Conduct vendor risk and opportunity management.
• Support vendor reviews (ITCM, PDR, CDR, FAI) and customer technical meetings.
• Provide on-site support during aircraft retrofits at MROs and resolve queries during and after aircraft embodiment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally within Airbus Customer Services and global Line-Fit production organizations.
• Interface directly with airline customers to manage and meet expectations throughout project lifecycles.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautic, Civil, or Electrical); minimum 3 years of engineering experience. OR Master’s degree with minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Direct exposure to project or program engineering methodologies.
• Proven CAD skills (e.g., CATIA) for creating, interpreting, and reviewing designs.
• Experience with aircraft cabin interiors, modifications, or related fields.
• Familiarity with FAA and/or EASA regulations for aircraft parts procurement, documentation, and traceability.
• General knowledge of Service Bulletin production, including interpreting SBs, Bills of Materials (BOM), and modification requirements.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace for documentation and project tracking.
• Strong project management skills to assess stakeholder impact and mitigate risks.
• Ability to synthesize complex technical topics and communicate clearly in technical English.
• Experience with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
• Professional Project Management Certification (PMP) is preferred.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site role based at the Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama. Travel is required up to 10% (domestic and international).
