Responsibilities
- Works with clients to set financial policy and is an active participant in, and driver of, the overall strategy.
- Leads financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
- Frequently partners with client’s leadership on operational and strategic issues as they arise, providing recommendations based on financial analysis of projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Oversees longer-term budget planning and cost management.
- Maintains financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitors the use of funds.
- Accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the service(s) provided to add value to the client.
- Develops full knowledge of GAAP and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of their specific industry.
- Able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple client engagements.
- Becomes a key member of client management team.
- Maintains knowledge of client’s organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- CPA licensure not required but highly preferred.
- 10+ years of accounting and/or financial experience required.
- Experience in using personal and professional network for business development and proven record of building and managing teams through growth.
- This position requires frequent local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes.
Pay
The compensation range for this position in Virginia is: $185,000.00 - $285,000.00
