About the role

CLA is seeking a Chief Financial Officer with Logistics industry experience for its growing CAAS group in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team, driving value through best practices, financial policy setting, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement best practices for services provided to enhance client value.
  • Work with clients to establish financial policies and actively participate in and drive overall strategy.
  • Lead capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
  • Manage financial administration, planning, and budgeting, including oversight of longer-term budget planning and cost management.
  • Monitor budget progress and present operational metrics, ensuring financial staff maintain accurate records and manage funds effectively.
  • Oversee cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting activities.
  • Coordinate audit activities and build strong client relationships, becoming a key member of the client management team.
  • Develop a strong external business network and become a recognized service and industry thought leader.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience as an Assistant Controller, Controller, or equivalent.
  • Logistics industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Prior project management and client management experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and skilled in multitasking.
  • Ability to travel to client locations or the office as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks (Online version) is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis.

Pay

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is $117,000.00 - $219,000.00 (annual).

This role offers a hybrid and flexible working environment, allowing you to balance client engagements with office time as needed.
