CA Claims Specialist - Bilingual (Spanish)
About the Opportunity
The CA Claims Specialist - Bilingual (Spanish) manages lower-level, non-complex workers’ compensation claims within delegated authority to achieve optimal outcomes. This remote role supports the claims department by handling claim intake, validity assessment, reserving, and communication, all under direct supervision of a senior claims professional. The position contributes to effective claims resolution while adhering to organizational and client guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Receive workers’ compensation claims and confirm policy coverage
- Determine claim validity and compensability
- Establish reserves and authorize payments within limits
- Manage non-complex lost-time workers’ compensation claims under close supervision
- Communicate claim status to customers, claimants, and clients
- Adhere to client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims review
- Assist with more complex claims as needed
- Comply with safety regulations and injury prevention programs
- Perform additional projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related experience
- Minimum of 1 year of industry experience and claims management preferred
- Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation maintained throughout employment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Rapid learning ability and understanding of claims practice
- Problem identification, analysis, and resolution skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Pay range: $25.48 to $41.09 per hour, varying by location and factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications
