Job Summary

Provide technical services under supervision of Registered Nurse and Physician. Assist in the operating room as assigned and directed. May work in Central Sterile Processing and work under job duties of Central Sterile Processing Technician.

Essential Functions

• Develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses.
• Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team.
• Implements the plan in a safe and timely manner.
• Determines if the plan is being implemented and includes changes or omissions of the identified plan.
• Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate.
• Utilizes appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan.
• Treats patients and families with compassion and implements a plan of care.
• Bases care decisions on plan of care.
• Makes sure the patient's response is monitored and documented.
• Establishes rapport with clients. Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs.
• Recognizes age-specific responses to treatment. Provides effective interventions.
• Respects patients' confidentiality and privacy.
• Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families.
• Manages difficult or emotional patient situations.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Degree from an Accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• 1 year of Surgical Technology Experience (Preferred).
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (Required).
• BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required).
