About the role
The C.A.R.E.S Paid Fellowship offers paid, real-world experience, professional development, and a pathway to long-term employment in the field of behavioral health and social services.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience working with youth between the ages of 12-20
- Participate in weekly didactic seminars covering child, adolescent, and young adult developmental milestones, DSM 5 diagnosis, behavioral management, child-serving systems, trauma, best practice trauma treatment, medication administration program certification, crisis prevention intervention certification, and immersive experience with youth
- Immerse in four different youth-serving intensive programs including Emergency Shelter, Independent Living, and Intensive Behavioral Health Services
- Work one full day of focused training and four additional days of on-site experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in human services related field
- Able to make a one-year training commitment
- Able to accept assignments and schedules at sites (includes evenings and weekends)
- Able to pass CORI, SORI, and DEEC background checks including fingerprinting
- Valid driver’s license with an adequate driving record
