Purchasing
- Negotiate with vendors for material purchases; negotiating fair prices, turns and service guarantees.
- Place purchase orders and determine delivery locations with consideration of; (a) NCBP internal transfer costs, and (b) vendor delivery costs.
- Maintain, build, and foster vendor relationships.
- Determine timing and quantity of purchases by reviewing; (a) existing inventory levels (in the overall company and at branch levels), (b) sales trends & inventory turn trends, and (c) market conditions such as vendor lead times.
- Foresee vendor rebates and plan purchases accordingly.
- Identify accurate minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Support in the monitoring of excess and obsolete inventory. Recommend branch transfers, promotional specials, etc… to reduce the inventory.
- Support margin improvement - provide guidance and information on cost increases and corresponding price increases.
- Work within the HQ Buyer team on departmental goals & objectives, while supporting local branch replenishers on purchasing functions.
- Aid Accounts Payable in rectifying pricing and receiving discrepancies.
Inventory & Stock Review

Skills & Requirements
- Business related degree from a reputable institution or equivalent professional qualification along with 1 to 2 years’ experience working in a similar capacity.
- Proven ability to successfully negotiate with multiple vendors on purchasing items (delivery, price, quantity).
- Solid background in inventory control, minimum / maximum settings, inventory turn analysis and recommending & implementing corrective actions.
- Superior analytical skills and the ability to compile and analyze large amounts of information and summarize in an easily understood format.
- Technical expertise in navigating and administering software programs, i.e., NCBP ERP system, and a working knowledge of MS Office; Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Residential & Commercial Roofing product knowledge, in addition to general building product knowledge, is highly desirable.
- Strong written, verbal and communication skills are required as well as the judgment and discretion needed to respond to confidential information.

Pay
$70k- $90k annually and additional benefits.
