About the role
In this Buyer role, you will work in a hybrid model, coming into the St Louis office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of key categories, specializing in hearing aid batteries and silver oxide, while building strong relationships with suppliers and cross‑functional partners. You’ll use data and market insights to support sourcing strategies, lead negotiations, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and influence decisions that directly impact the business. Position Summary
The Buyer is deeply involved in conducting analysis to support global category strategy development and execution. The Buyer will support supplier relationship management and the achievement of cost/performance targets. He or she will lead category/supplier management for sub‑categories and suppliers assigned to them.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative analysis using Excel, PowerBi, and dashboards
- Develop category and supplier profiles and present to leadership/stakeholders
- Support negotiations with suppliers and cost model development across their category and lead efforts for their assigned sub‑categories/suppliers
- Understand the importance of stakeholder management and begin to engage stakeholders
- Support the development of category‑specific pipeline
