What You'll Do Replenish inventory utilizing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) formulation with primary and secondary supply sourcesEvaluate and negotiate with potential suppliers based on their product quality, cost, delivery times, payment terms and customer serviceObtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders, as neededEnsure receipts are processed on timely basis; verify and authorize payment of invoices or coordinate return of defective/incorrect merchandiseContribute to Supply Chain goals where applicableTrack and report key functional metrics tracking overall cost reduction. Benchmarks, KPIs, and other data analytics will be used in order to meet or exceed departmental cost benefit goals, objectives, and spend measurementsUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunitiesAssist with special projects and other duties as assigned What You'll Need Minimum 3 years purchasing experience, preferably some purchasing experience within retail or construction industryUnderstands business operations and needsIdentifies and evaluates issues and uses good judgement to implement appropriate solutionAbility to work as a team player in a fast paced multi-discipline environment, with strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational and listening skillsProficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPointStrong communication Skills (verbal, written, listening) including ability to communicate effectively with all levels or organizationMust be able to read, write, and communicate in English Your Education High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's Degree strongly preferred We are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
