Position : Buyer/Planner Location : San Diego, CA Duration : 6 Months Total Hours/week : 40.00 pay rate: $20-25/hr 1st Shift Client: Medical Device Company Job Category: Procurement Group Level Of Experience: Mid-Level Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens Or GC Holders Only) Job Description Responsible for identifying and procuring goods and services at a fair and reason price to ensure business continuity for the production lines and manage optimal inventory levels. Solicit quotes, issue annual contracts based on forecast, review requisitions and release POs for the entire life cycle of the Products. Coordinate logistics and ensure JIT delivery. Negotiate effectively with Suppliers to avoid Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and partner with Sourcing when a potential PPV is greater $5k. Keep the Production Lines running using Kanban Program.Work with stakeholders and peers (Sourcing, Quality, Material Coordinators, Planning, Transportation, Engineers, Finance) to ensure requests are fulfilled. Improve supplier relationships and performance (service, on-time delivery, quality, reconciliation of invoices, POs and documentation).Lead and participate in continuous improvement/Kaizen events to improve Purchasing productivity and reduce pain points.
