Job Summary
The Buyer Planner I is responsible for the procurement of materials and services, and the planning and scheduling of production to meet customer demand and optimize inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Analyze material requirements and production schedules to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize material flow and resolve supply chain issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement and planning functions.
- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and production performance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or a related supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
