Essential Job Functions

• Affirms optimum inventory/kanban levels and on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and transportation charges.
• Materials planning for release and/or ordering of materials and supplies to achieve on-time deliveries at the optimum inventory investment.
• Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages.
• Fulfills materials practices, contracts, assessments, and policies to maintain honest, fair, and ethical relationships with suppliers.
• Implements policies/procedures/processes that ensure the accurate processing of inventory and production transactions.
• Manages assigned commodities for inventory/data integrity, cycle counts, obsolete/excess inventory, returned material, engineering change notice/new product launch material planning, and supplier performance evaluation.
• Prepares and issues all necessary reports and/or correspondence.
• Supports NPD stage gate process under the direction of the Commodity Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school graduate with minimum 2 years of college with the ability to read blueprints.
• College degree preferred.
• Basic understanding of machine capabilities and shop processes beneficial, including machine tooling and production and fabrication processes.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in materials and/or purchasing or industrial and/or related field experience.
