Buyer/Planner

Position Summary

The Buyer / Production Planner is responsible for planning and executing purchasing and production planning activities to support on-time customer delivery. This role manages purchase orders, confirms and tracks supplier delivery dates, and develops production schedules for various departments aligned with customer demand and available capacity.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders to approved suppliers
• Confirm supplier delivery dates and proactively follow up on open orders
• Communicate delivery updates, delays, and risks to internal stakeholders
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
• Monitor production capacity, material availability, and demand to adjust schedules as needed
• Cook with operations to ensure alignment between the plan and execution
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure adequate material supply to support production
• Complete and monitor system transactions related to purchasing, inventory, and production

Qualifications

• Minimum Job Qualifications: 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, production planning, or supply chain
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (internal and supplier-facing)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Management or related
• Experience with Oracle
• APICS / CPIM certification
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with CNC machining and assembly
