Buyer/Planner
Position Summary
The Buyer / Production Planner is responsible for planning and executing purchasing and production planning activities to support on-time customer delivery. This role manages purchase orders, confirms and tracks supplier delivery dates, and develops production schedules for various departments aligned with customer demand and available capacity.
Responsibilities
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders to approved suppliers
- Confirm supplier delivery dates and proactively follow up on open orders
- Communicate delivery updates, delays, and risks to internal stakeholders
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
- Monitor production capacity, material availability, and demand to adjust schedules as needed
- Cook with operations to ensure alignment between the plan and execution
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure adequate material supply to support production
- Complete and monitor system transactions related to purchasing, inventory, and production
Qualifications
- Minimum Job Qualifications: 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, production planning, or supply chain
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills (internal and supplier-facing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Management or related
- Experience with Oracle
- APICS / CPIM certification
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with CNC machining and assembly
