Buyer/Planner

Job Duties

• Interface to internal organizations and working closely with internal personnel to develop alternative suppliers and technologies.
• Initiate cost savings.
• Evaluate and negotiate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
• Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
• Will be responsible for the procurement of assigned commodities, services and materials used in plant operations and production.
• Will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, identifying and develop new suppliers that support our goals of improved quality, excellent delivery and reduced cost.
• Responsible for reviewing MRP on a daily basis and issue TO, WO and PO on a timely manner.
• Responsible for confirming TO and PO from Vendors and revise contracts (PO & TO) accordingly.
• Responsible for following up with vendors for TO and PO issued for on time delivery.
• Review Reverse MRP to prevent overstock.
• Purchasing Inventory Procurement
• Customer Support
• Supplier Support
• Supplier Negotiations

Job Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with purchasing, logistics, supply chain management, and contracts.
• Proficiency in Windows-based PC software applications.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
• Familiar with MRP Systems.
• Detail Oriented.
• Strong contract negotiation skills.
